We met at his 21st birthday party in April 2004. I was acquainted with Ben's roommate Jon, who had invited me to the party. Later that month, I invited him to one of her board game parties and we made a date to see A Perfect Circle in concert in Atlanta in May. We officially began dating on May 1, 2004, after sharing their first kiss at a birthday party for some of Ben's friends.

Ben proposed to me on Christmas Day in 2007. We were spending the day with his family in Crossville. Ben decided he couldn't wait to pop the question and proposed in the driveway. I, of course, said yes. The ring he gave to me was originally the engagement ring of my parents. We took it to a gemologist and had it reset with rubies added to the sides.
